Chloe Whitbread ('25) applied in the fall for the opportunity to present at TEDx York Beach. Applicants were asked to prepare a speech on "Power of the Past. Force of the Future".  She auditioned in November and was selected as a participant in the show in February. She worked with a speech coach for the next few months to hone her presentation. Chloe did such a great job preparing for the event that she was selected to be the closing act for the February 10 show. Giving a high school student the opportunity to highlight the future is an honor that Chloe earned. Her speech titled: "Sacrificing the Journey" will be viewable on YouTube soon.

A special thank you to the York Middle School and York High School art club students who provided a collaborative art show for viewing by the TEDx York Beach attendees.  The art also represented the theme of the night the "Power of the Past. Force of the Future". According to York High School art teacher, Dave Shenett, "the resulting artwork is very conceptual and all about idea generation through the creative process and transition of work in the hands of others".
