Deanna

York High School is pleased to introduce our new Varsity Girls Volleyball Head Coach. Please join us in welcoming Deanna Martin to our Wildcat family.

Coach Martin brings an exceptional depth of experience as both a player and coach at the highest levels of the sport. A former Division I athlete and team captain at the University of Virginia, she earned numerous conference and regional honors during her collegiate career and has a deep understanding of competitive volleyball and team leadership.

Following her playing career, Coach Martin transitioned into coaching at the collegiate level, serving as an Assistant Women’s Volleyball Coach at Harvard University. In that role, she contributed to all aspects of a successful program, including player development, recruiting, and match preparation. She later continued her coaching career at the high school level, most notably as Head Varsity Girls’ Volleyball Coach at The Williston Northampton School, where she also served as a teacher, mentor, and residential leader.

In addition to her extensive coaching background, Coach Martin has spent many years as an educator and mentor, working closely with students both in and out of the classroom. Her ability to connect with young people, foster growth, and build strong, cohesive teams will be invaluable to our program.

Coach Martin is passionate about developing athletes at every level, creating a positive and competitive team culture, and continuing to build excitement around volleyball within our school and community. Her leadership, consistency, and commitment to excellence make her an outstanding addition to our Wildcat community.  We are excited for the future of our volleyball program under her guidance and look forward to the upcoming season.
