Students in Portsmouth

On Tuesday, May 16 students in Mr. Cleary's Exploring York and Pre-AP History classes ventured down to Portsmouth, NH. Students had the opportunity to participate in a historical sailing lesson on the Portsmouth Gundalow while also experiencing a bit of marine science.

They also were able to tour Strawberry Banke which is an outdoor history museum located in the South End historic district of Portsmouth. It is the oldest neighborhood in New Hampshire to be settled by Europeans, and the earliest neighborhood remaining in the present-day city of Portsmouth. Students enjoyed this hands-on learning experience and they continue to appreciate opportunities to go on field trips post-Covid.
