School Social Workers are trained mental health professionals who can assist with mental health concerns, behavioral concerns, positive behavioral support, academic, and classroom support, consultation with teachers, parents, and administrators as well as provide individual and group counseling.
Social work service at York High School is provided by our School Social Worker, Kathy Damiano. Ms. Damiano completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Rutgers University and a Master of Social Work degree at Columbia University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has been working in the field of school social work for over 20 years.
Ms. Damiano is available to all students who are in need of school mental health support. Referrals can be made via school counselors, teachers, administrators, parents or self-referrals. All services are confidential.
