PSAT/NMSQT Information

CollegeBoard and PSAT

Due to recent changes in the State of Maine educational assessment program, YHS will no longer be offering the PSAT 10 in the spring, and there will not be a school-day PSAT/NMSQT in the fall or SAT in the spring.

The junior PSAT/NMSQT will be offered to York High School Juniors on Wednesday13th. More information on signing up to come.

We are recommending that all sophomores create a CollegeBoard account by the end of the year so that they have it and are prepared to access their PSAT scores once they are released in the fall.

Students should create ONE College Board account and should never create another account. Multiple accounts can interfere with the student’s ability to access PSAT and SAT score reports, register for SATs, and send score reports to colleges and universities. If you have forgotten your College Board username and password please follow the steps on the College Board website to retrieve that information, or contact College Board at: 866-756-7346.

Khan Academy SAT Prep - In order to prepare for the PSAT/NMSQT and the SAT, we are encouraging all sophomores to create a Khan Academy account using their YHS email address. CollegeBoard has partnered with Khan Academy to offer a free individualized SAT prep course for students. Khan Academy uses the student’s PSAT scores, and/or practice test scores taken in Khan Academy, to create a personalized SAT practice plan which focuses on the specific skills they need to improve upon to prepare for the next test.

SAT Information

** The State of Maine no longer uses the SAT as a measurement tool for testing, therefore York High School will not host SAT's during the school day. Students wishing to take any of the SAT exams must sign up directly through the College Board. Times and testing locations vary and are listed on the College Board website. **

Registering for the SAT

In order to register for the SAT students must have a CollegeBoard account. If you do not have a CollegeBoard account, see ‘Creating a CollegeBoard Account’. Reminder: Students should only have one account, so if you are unsure, use the ‘forgot username’ and ‘forgot password’ links to see if you already have an account.

The SAT is being offered at YHS this spring on Saturday, May 8th, 2021. The registration deadline for this test is April 8th, and the late registration deadline is April 27th.

To register for any SAT administration, log into your CollegeBoard account and follow the instructions to register for the test. Here are all SAT Dates and Deadlines.

  1. Determine which administration you plan to take. See the full SAT schedule.
