PSAT & SAT
The PSAT/NMSQT is the Preliminary SAT and National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. This test is designed to introduce students to the SAT, help them gain an understanding of the test format, and help them to identify areas for improvement. After taking the PSAT all students are provided with a detailed score report, which is reviewed with all students in their English class, as well as shown the various resources available to help them improve their scores. All freshman and sophomores take the PSAT in April and all juniors take the PSAT/NMSQT in October.
For more information on the PSAT please contact the Student Services Office or visit the College Board site at: http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/psat/about.html
** The State of Maine no longer uses the SAT as a measurement tool for testing, therefore York High School will not host SAT's during the school day. Students wishing to take any of the SAT exams must sign up directly through the College Board. Times and testing locations vary and are listed on the College Board website. **
