College Application

There are several ways students can apply to colleges and universities - the most common way is through the Common Application, which we encourage students to use.  However, students may also apply through the college or university’s own application portal, or another application, such as the Coalition App. No matter which application a student chooses, counselors will send all materials electronically through Naviance.

In the spring of their junior year, counselors meet regularly with students in Pride and individually to introduce and review the application process.  At the end of the junior year, counselors will have students create a Common App account so they can begin working on it over the summer, if they choose.

There are several types of admission plans– Early Action, Early Decision, Regular Decision, and Rolling. No matter which application plan a student chooses, communication with their school counselor is imperative to ensure colleges receive application materials by the deadline.

Do not hesitate to reach out to your school counselor at any point for help with the application process.
