Scholarship & Financial Aid Information
Most college financial aid is need-based and all families must submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form to be considered for any federal grants and loans. In addition, many private colleges also require submission of the CSS PROFILE. Deadlines vary tremendously from college to college. Students should check the financial aid deadlines as carefully as they check the application deadlines. Usually the CSS Profile form must be submitted earlier than the FAFSA form. The FAFSA cannot be submitted until October 1, 2016. The FAFSA will require your prior year's tax information which can be imported from the IRS using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool.
Net Price Calculator
The College Board can provide students a personalized estimate of the cost to attend various colleges using College Board's Net Price Calculator. This determines the amount students will be expected to pay after grants and scholarships are deducted from the cost of attendance. In addition, each school provides their own Net Price Calculator on their financial aid page.

FAFSA4caster is another tool to help students and families get an early start on the financial aid process by giving an early estimate of the eligibility for federal student aid (federal grants, loans, and work study). Log on to www.fafsa4caster.ed.gov to get started. If you use FAFSA4caster, when you’re ready to officially apply for aid, FAFSA4caster will transfer all of your data to the FAFSA on the Web application, making the experience of applying for federal student aid a lot easier.
